Interview By Dadsforlife

Mr Raymond Tan and family on an outing

“Being involved…spurred me on…”

Raymond Tan, dad to Gladwin Tan, 9, Frewin Tan, 6, and Raywin, 3, Chairman, Parents Support Group (PSG), Innova Primary School:
My involvement in Fathers@Schools helped to strengthen my family relationships. My wife, May is very supportive. I would like to thank her for the support and encouragement given to me for the success of running this programme.
In addition, Fathers@Schools enabled me to realise the importance of father and child bonding. By being involved with my children, it inspires them to do better academically; our communication is improved; and we understand each other better.
I have been spurred to be a good role model to my children. As a family, we have learnt to set goals and put into practice our core values. Participating in Fathers@Schools has made a difference in our lives. We are developing as a happy, cohesive and harmonious family.
My greatest hope for my children is that they are happy and healthy. I wish for them to have integrity; to pursue their interests; and to contribute to society for the good.
As I see the results of my contribution to Fathers@Schools, I am motivated to help more fathers to bond with their children.
